This is a piece of visual poetry. It is intended to be a commentary on perfectionism within myself as well as the nature of the curse of sin— a concept that is central to my personal beliefs and world view. The lines of dialogue at the end were part of a piece of flash fiction that I wrote as a basis for this piece and are meant to provide a context but still allow the viewer to come to their own personal interpretations.

“Wait! Please, who are you?”
After a long moment, the woman turned and June was startled to see that she had her own face. Finally, she answered.
“I am nothing— and everything— that is you. I am your unachievable dreams, your forgotten futures, your unbroken soul. I am always within your reach and just beyond your grasp. I am as unattainable as death is unavoidable.
Yet do not despair. Perfection is not a keeper of promises and much joy is found in that which is blemished.”
“Why did you come here?”
“It is you that brought me here. Only you can release me.”
She closed her eyes, and when she opened them, the woman was gone.
