In my final semester at Alfred State, I was approached by Sharon McConnell about a project to make a cookbook featuring recipes from the beloved but recently closed "Nana's Japanese Cafe". I was shortly after brought on as the graphic designer and sales manager for the book. Over the next two years, we wrote the book (I transcribed the recipes for Nanako Yatani), staged and photographed the food and I created the book design with Sharon as art director. I designed everything from page layouts, font choice, text placement, and color design. I edited photos for print adjustments and examined proofs to make final changes ensuring the quality of every page. I also successfully ran the project's social media throughout the making of the book to garner interest and ran a pre-order campaign. Due to these efforts, we ended up selling far more copies than we had originally expected. I managed inventory and fulfillment for over 2000 orders. Finally, I also handled bookkeeping and customer service. I am incredibly proud of this project both for my artistic and technical contributions.
