If you knew all the pain a particular “path” (major choice, direction, etc) of life would bring you— would you still take it? If you knew it was the right decision? If you knew it would bring you deep joy but also deep loss and grief?
I’m very inspired by the archetype of the threshold— stories about journeys are some of my favorites and the threshold represents the beginning of a journey— as well as a “no going back” moment for characters.
This piece explores the visual representation of a threshold moment. I wanted to think about how a character would react if they saw glimpses of the future that awaited them down a particular path. And when those glimpses are filled with both joy and pain, what do they choose?
